Synopsis
2009. Stacey Hyde an impressionable seventeen year old Somerset girl working in a bar is drugged and taken back to a friend’s house. Between passing out and waking up she is charged with murdering her firiend’s boyfriend.
Sentenced to life imprisonment for a crime she only partially remembers committing, she is sent to Holloway Prison as a category A prisoner. Surviving the toughest women’s jail in Britain as a teenager without any hope of parole, she loses her will to survive the punishing regime of day to day existence.
Cinderella is a modern day tale of perseverance and ultimate freedom for a young women who survived a miscarriage of justice. Her experience is harrowing but ultimately uplifting for a generation of young women who fall foul of others in society who use and abuse them without recourse to protection or fair treatment by the law.
